Ibanez ST300 (Vintage made in Japan)
Probably the coolest of Ibanez' first own guitar designs is this Ibanez Studio - a twin humbucker beast, made in Japan in the late 70s and designed to humiliate Gibsons. This is the ST300 version, with the most luxurious specifications. It features a body made up of a maple center block and ash wings, a three piece rock maple neck and a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard with abalone inlays. The pickups are Ibanez' V2 humbuckers, which you can use in passive mode (also without battery) for classic sounds, or you can run them through the on board two band EQ, which can boost mids and treble quite a lot. The pickups also have switches to split them or wire them out of phase - this is a seriously versatile guitar, delivering on its promise to be the ultimate studio instrument. This one is in great condition and ready to be played.
Condition: excellent with light wear, original except for the EQ pots and knobs and some of the wiring - the previous owner disconnected the EQ, we put it back in and replaced the electrolytics. The boost from the EQ is somewhat noisy - inherent in this circuit and not a problem when you're rocking out through an overdriven tube amp.
